Yuu Yuumukai (夕向 ユウ Yuumukai Yuu[?]) is an original character by Guchiry and protagonist of the song It Was Love from the Beginning.
A girl who fell in love with her “childhood friend”.[1]
Appearance[]
Yuu has long, bluish black hair with straight bangs and a hime cut. She wears a white dress shirt with a black tie, light blue sweater with a black skirt.
In Everyone is Human., her hair is dark blue with some of her long hair at the front and she's shown with blue eyes of the same colour. She also wears a black blazer.
Personality[]
Yuu is said to have a caring personality which is shown through her helping her childhood friend Amane Amasaki with advice to talk to her crush Mene Tame.[2] She is also an honors student,[3] with her receiving an award at an assembly in Abnormality Dancin' Girl. However, she's emotional which is shown through her love of Amane. She cries after her unrequited love and frequently gets love consultations knowing she doesn't love her in the same way.

Amane Amasaki[]
They were friends since childhood and are shown to be very close with Yuu soon falling in love with Amane which isn't reciprocated. Amane trusts Yuu enough to tell her about her crush and to seek advice from her.
Karen Renda[]
Yuu is aware that Karen stands as a "love rival" for Amane.[4]
Miya Nanamiya[]
In Mene's Diary, it is implied that Yuu was the one who Miya appointed behind the scenes for the school play; this is evidenced by Yuu already being previously mentioned in the diary along with no other girl in Mene's class appearing willing to take part in the festival. Yuu was "unexpectedly overjoyed" because of her new position.
Etymology[]
Yuu (ユウ[?]) has various meanings depending on the kanji used, including 優 ("tenderness, superiority, gentleness"), 友 ("friend"), and 悠 ("permanence").
Yuumukai (夕向[?]) means "evening beyond".
Story[]
In Gods' Miniature Garden, when she was a child she meets Amane and soon becomes friends with her and eventually falls in love with her. However, since she isn't aware of her feelings she doesn't realise and hides it. In high school, Amane soon falls in love with Mene Tame for her normality[5] and Yuu realises that she couldn't be with Amane. The realisation torments her and she seeks out love consultations to make herself feel better and cries in her pillow when she gets home.[1]
Amane asks Yuu for advice for talking to Mene, however Amane isn't able to use Yuu's advice and consults her more for each action she takes towards getting closer to Mene, not knowing Mene is interested in Miya Nanamiya for her "abnormality".[3][5][6] Soon Karen Renda finds out about Amane's crush and convinces herself she's in love with Mene and stands in Amane's way as a love rival to her.[7]
In Everyone is Human., she comforts Amane and pats her back.
