Shou (ショウ Shou[?]) is one of Guchiry’s original characters. He is the protagonist of the song Midnight Showtime.

Shou ran a bakery before becoming one of Carl's victims. He is one of the people that attended the Midnight Ball.

Appearance[]

Shou has blonde hair tied into a small ponytail, eyes of a slightly darker and more brownish colour, and is seemingly quite tall. He has two outfits.

His first outfit is his baker outfit and is shown in the Butterfly Dream crossfade video. In it, he wears a white baker shirt, a dark apron, brown pants and shoes, and white socks. He is shown to be carrying a baguette in a brown paper bag.

His second outfit is a suit which he presumably wore to the Midnight Ball. It is black and slightly tainted blue, and has a grey tie accompanying it. Shou is shown wearing this in Schadenfreude and the end of Rainy Girl.

Etymology[]

Shou (ショウ[?]) could derive from 翔 (Shou[?]) meaning "soar, glide" or 奨 (Shou[?]) meaning "prize, reward"[5], but it's most likely just a wordplay to Show (ショー[?]).

Story[]

Shou and Sophie were a married couple who ran a bakery together; however, one day Sophie passed away due to an illness. From that point forward, Shou ran the store alone.[4] One day, whilst working, Shou received a mysterious invitation that had no seal or name out of nowhere.[6] It led him to wander to a huge palace where a mysterious ball of ghosts was being held. Upon entering the ball, he encounters a shadowy ghost of his late wife, and then takes her to dance together.[7] He decides to stay with her, becoming a ghost himself.[3][8] He was reported missing after that incident.[1][4]

The song "Soiree in Darkness" is written from the perspective of the wife who has become a ghost. I hope you will enjoy the story as well. By the way, this song "Soiree in Darkness" and "Midnight Showtime" have a different endings. The way the story ends is branched, so it's route A and route B. In Steins;Gate, it's like the Alpha and Beta world lines, so there is no Steins;Gate route where both are saved. I hope you enjoy the Alpha world line and the Beta world line."
